Not too long ago, I picked up my first-ever pair of Golden Goose sneakers (and shared them first in this post!), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! I’ve also broken them in well that I feel like I have a good grip on their quality, and a number of other aspects about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

What’s the price?

I picked them up for $385.43, though they usually go for around $513.91.

Do they fit as expected?

They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a European 36.

Since they keep their shape and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d choose the larger option.

Are they comfortable?

They required minimal break-in time..

Do they hold up well?

They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. No glitter has fallen off, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.

Do they feel better than other shoes?

They’re the highest quality sneakers I have. I wear Vejas and Tretons too, but Golden Goose are just on another level. They have a hidden arch lift that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is one of a kind. And the sparkle on mine? Stunning.

Are they worth it?

Totally! But I’d recommend waiting for a sale. They’re not cheap, so getting them with a promo is worth it. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you get a pair you love. I chose a loud pair, but a low-key version would also look great.

They’re true to size in my experience, at least for me. They haven’t stretched much, so if you’re between sizes, I’d go up

Are they comfortable?

They felt good right away. I wear no-show socks with them, especially since my feet get sweaty. They’re made with real Italian leather, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in synthetic materials. Also, they’re already broken-in so your feet just adjust easily.

How do they perform over time?

Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they’ve held up beautifully. No glitter has fallen off, and the shape stayed solid.

Thanks to the vintage look, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
